Behind the Brushstrokes
The Mini Mural project was such a fun and rewarding experience. When I attended the first workshop, I had a completely different idea in mind – but after that first night, I decided I wanted my mural to be something people could play with, not just admire.
With the help of Tara Peterman and inspiration from my two sons, Jettson and Gradyn, their love of bubbles, and the joy they bring to all of us, The Breath of Joy was born.
Things to look for in the mural:
•Can you find the "marble"? (Tara took the lead on the bubble colors. My first attempt wasn't quite successful, earning my very first bubble the affectionate nickname, the marble.)
•There is a bubble-shaped animal hidden in the mural. Can you find it?
I have never considered myself an artist, and I have not done anything like this before. The carefree flow of the bubbles gave the entire project a "no mistakes, just happy accidents" kind of feeling. The process came with plenty of learning curves, and there were moments when I questioned everything, but in the end, we were/are very happy with the results.
